ASG successfully delivered an ARGOS II EO/IR foundation course to students from the UAE in mid-September at the Hensoldt Optronics campus in Centurion, South Africa. The group of two UAV pilots and four camera operators had a mixed level of experience operating EO/IR sensors.
The course was well received by both the students and Hensoldt staff. Thanks to the learning techniques employed by the ASG instructor, the students interacted well throughout the course. All theory covered in the lessons was relevant to their current operations and served to further their knowledge and understanding of EO/IR camera operation.
The practical exercises utilised the ASG EO/IR sensor simulator (Gimbal Imaging Systems Trainer (GIST)) which served not only to consolidate the theoretical part of the course, but to develop the students’ skills.
