ASG RAF WSOp (ISTAR) Course Complete

ASG delivers a fourth iteration of the Royal Air Force 6-week ISTAR/ISR course to Weapon Systems Operators destined for Sensor Operator posts on frontline platforms such as the MQ-9 Reaper, Sentinel R1, RC-135 Rivet Joint and E-3D Sentry.

ASG successfully delivered another 6-week long advanced ISTAR course to RAF aircrew on the advanced phase of their ISTAR/ISR course. The course uses a blended approach to deliver the training, with experienced, ex-RAF instructors delivering the theoretical content in a classroom environment and reinforcing the application of the theory using complex simulation software to cover topics such as radar, RESM, aircraft countermeasures, weapon systems, communications, situational awareness and airmanship. The course was delivered at 45 (R) Sqn at RAF College Cranwell, with a further course planned in October.
